HMRC is in a good position, new chief executive tells MPs

HM Revenue & Customs is in “reasonably good order” and expects to build on recent improvements in customer service, its new chief executive Jon Thompson told members of Parliament. HMRC’s executive chair, Edward Troup, said the OECD’s base erosion and profit-shifting project is already having an impact on multinationals’ approach to tax planning.
