UK tax policy development has improved but concerns remain, experts say

Many recent consultations on UK tax policy have been successful, but the government does not always consult early enough in the policy development process and too little attention is paid to the interaction between tax measures, according to HM Treasury’s tax professionals forum.

While “it is very easy to focus on the negatives,” the independent members of the forum said in their fifth annual report, published on December 5, many policies are now proceeding according to plan, resulting in “better policies and better legislation.”
