Tax in education: HMRC resources for schools

The messages in HMRC’s Junior Tax Facts video are very simple, as the Personal Finance Education Group noted:

that taxes provide the money that is needed to pay for the things that‎ are essential to young people, their families, communities and society as a whole.

The target audience is 8-11 year olds.

The PFEG also drew attention to Tax Facts: About HMRC, intended for 14-17 year olds, which has been updated this week. HMRC describes this as:

a general overview of what HMRC does, how taxes are collected and how the money is used.

These and other HMRC videos are available on the department’s YouTube channel.
