Office of Tax Simplification seeks bolder solutions to complexity

The UK’s Office of Tax Simplification has signalled a move toward a more holistic approach to complex tax law and administration, suggesting “bolder, cross-cutting” solutions.

“The OTS makes a valuable contribution to the public debate around tax, supporting the creation of a simpler tax code and challenging the government to deliver it,” said Mel Stride, the newly appointed financial secretary to the Treasury, as the OTS released its first annual report on June 26.
