MPs question national insurance impact assessment

Members of Parliament questioned the U.K. government’s view that proposed new national insurance charges will not affect employees and complained that they were not given enough time to prepare for a debate.

After 80 minutes of debate on April 30, MPs approved the National Insurance Contributions (Termination Awards and Sporting Testimonials) Bill at its second reading in the House of Commons, but a cross-party public bill committee will now examine the bill in detail.
