Boris Johnson paused a bill to implement the EU withdrawal agreement, after MPs rejected the government’s proposed timetable for debate and voiced concerns over proposed customs arrangements for Northern Ireland. https://t.co/d2Relrv4wE me for @TaxNotes ($)
But they went on to reject by 322 votes to 308 a program motion requiring the proceedings in “Committee of the whole House” to be completed in two days. MPs would have had only one hour, during the week of October 28, in which to consider any House of Lords amendments.
